Clean Through the Word
Verse
“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.” John 15:3
Teaching
The spoken Word of Christ cleanses the inner life. This is not just about reading the Bible but hearing the voice of Jesus by the Holy Spirit as you read. Spiritual change and cleansing is not achieved by human effort but by encountering Jesus our sanctification. Dirt can come from disappointment, fear, offence, lust, comparison, and unbelief. Jesus cleans His disciples by speaking truth over them. The cleansing and righteousness we enjoy in Christ differs from our own religious righteousness which is described as filthy rugs, (Is 64:6).
Christianity is about walking with Jesus, not just behaving well. Seek communion with Him daily in the written Word. Allow His purity to wash over your soul and purge all pollution. Sit under the Word until your inner world becomes clear again. Today, let His voice and presence remove the residue of wrong voices.

Take time today to let the Word wash you. Read John 15:1–8 aloud slowly. Write down one sentence from Jesus that corrects, cleanses, and reorders your heart.
