Abide in Me
Verse
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine…” John 15:4
Teaching
Abiding is not continuing to be a believer. It is more about preserving our vital relational communion with Jesus. Branches, although distinctly different from the stem, are in complete relational union with the identity and flow of the whole plant. The same sap made of water and nutrients flows around the vine. If that exchange is lost by the branch for any reason, it is no longer on the plant however connected it looks - and right there is the beginning of its death.
A healthy branch does not strain to produce grapes. Much exhaustion comes from trying to produce kingdom fruit when disconnected from the King. Jesus does not command you first to perform, but to remain. Remaining means staying in His love, His words, His presence, His pace, and His government. Today, intentionally check-in with Jesus through the day and feel the flow of his life and love into your whole being.

Instruction
Practise abiding today. Pause every three hours for two minutes. Breathe, become still, and say: “Lord Jesus, I remain in You, and You remain in me.”
