The Father’s Pruning
Verse
“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” John 15:2
Teaching
Pruning is vital to the fruitfulness of a vine. The Father cuts because He is committed to fruit, not just branches . Pruning can feel like loss, delay, correction, or restriction, but in the hands of the Father it is love with a knife. God removes what drains life, divides focus, crowds our minds and limits fruitfulness. Do not misread pruning as rejection. If the Father is touching it, He is preparing you for increase. In the growing of vines, the fruit only grows on fresh annual sprouts on the pruned branches. If the vinedresser shies from pruning, he will have no grapes that year. Today, surrender the thing you have been defending that God has been trimming.

Instruction
Identify one area where God may be pruning you: a habit, relationship, distraction, appetite, attitude, or ambition. Submit it to the Father without resistance or resentment.
