The Knowledge of God
Verse
…every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, .. (2 Cor 10:5)
Teaching
When Satan comes against man, his actual agenda is to defile our knowledge and experience of God. According to the worship of the angels in the scriptures, “God is good and His mercy endures forever, (Ps 136) But the voice that tends to rise from human suffering and circumstance under the hand of the evil one declares the opposite: God is unfair, does not really care and is behind all human pain and suffering.
Every thought that aligns with that satanic testimony is from the evil one, and must be challenged, uprooted and driven out! At the heart of the worship of God’s people is this assured and defiant decree that God is good and merciful. But this eternal ruth is not arrived at through mere Bible study: it takes personal encounters of His love and power.
The Hebrew word translated ‘Know’ (Yada) is not about study but relational encounter. The ultimate purpose of spiritual warfare is not just overcoming wrong thinking but the removal of barriers to experiencing, enjoying and walking with God in all of his goodness.
