Casting Down Imaginations
Verse
Vs 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself.... (2 Cor 10:5)
Instruction
Take 30 minutes imagining your health, wealth, career, family, church, ministry in the “up, above and bright”prospering position. Also cast down the opposites in the “down behind, and dark” position.
Quote
“If you want to build a boat, do not instruct the men to saw wood, stitch the sails, prepare the tools and organise the work, but make them long for setting sail and travel to distant lands.” — Antoine De Saint-Exupéry
Teaching
‘Casting down’ means to lower, demote, despise and destroy. In the discipline of personal coaching, it has been found that when something is exalted in your mind and heart, in your subconscious imagination, you tend to “see” and store this perspective in colour and to the right and in front of your mental screen. When you despise something, you place it in the down, dark and below and behind position of your mind.
When Paul the Apostle says, “Forgetting what lies behind, I press on...” (Phil 3:13), it clearly shows that you cannot easily overcome and forget things that you set in front of you. The Psalmist in contrast says, “I have set the Lord always before me...” (Ps 16:8).
Casting down imaginations means that you intentionally sit down, close your eyes and decide what you will exalt and what you will demote and destroy.
