Obedience Will Punish All Disobedience
Verse
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled, (2 Cor 19:5)
Teaching
It is possible for a child of God to still have a totally rebellious mind. A rebellious mind does not answer to principles or boundaries. Discipleship includes taking dominion over this mental rebellion by taking every thought captive and bringing them into submission and obedience to God’s will. When your thoughts are brought into obedience, the benefits will go beyond just order; you will, by so doing, unlock authority and power to punish anything that disobeys God’s order. Authority functions on principle: you cannot exercise it if you are not yourself submitted to authority. Obedience to God has far -reaching effects because the kingdom of darkness runs on disobedience. It is also clear that all human need is a type of rebellion from God’s prescribed order. Ministry is bringing all the fallen rebellious systems of this world into subjection to Christ, and it follows that we can genuinely punish disobedience when our obedience is complete. This does not presume that we will walk in perfect obedience all the time, but we know that part of our obedience is confessing our faults to God in humility and repentance.
Quote
“Ministry is about bringing the earth realm back into obedience to God, and the punishing of everything that does not look like God”
