The True Vine

Verse

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.” John 15:1

Teaching

Fruitfulness begins with being connected to the source. Jesus does not say He is a vine among many; He says, “I am the true vine.” This means that there are several alternative sources inviting. For us who are in Christ, staying dynamically connected to Him is essential to avoid deception, diversion and destruction. Some people draw life from approval, money, position, attention, pain, control, or performance. But only Christ can provide the spiritual nourishment we need to thrive. Today, return and intimately connect to the Source. Although there are other branches around you, be careful not to mistake them for the vine. We can all bless and support each other as believers. But nothing can be a substitute for a personal relationship with Jesus.

Quote

“Whatever becomes your source will eventually become your master.”- Epictetus, Greek Philosopher.

Instruction

Begin the week by confessing your source. Identify and renounce the false sources that you may have enthroned in your life. Pray: “Jesus, You are my true vine. I refuse every false source of strength, identity, provision, and security.”
