Reject Borrowed Armour

Verse

"I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them." So David took them off. 1 Samuel 17:39

Teaching

Saul's armour represented a method that looked impressive but did not fit David's calling, training, or experience. Under pressure, it is tempting to copy another person's style, personality, strategy, or platform. Borrowed armour can make you appear prepared while making you unable to move. David honoured Saul but refused to fight as Saul. God had trained him with a staff, sling, stones, and hidden faithfulness. Courage includes accepting the grace God has actually given you. Use wise counsel, but do not abandon authenticity in order to look powerful.

Quote

"Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit," says the LORD of hosts.
- The LORD (Zechariah 4:6)

Instruction

Identify one way you have been imitating someone else's method. Name the gifts, experience, and resources God has genuinely placed in your hand.
