Come in the Lord's Name
Verse
"I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel." 1 Samuel 17:45
Teaching
David did not confront Goliath in personal confidence alone. He came under the authority, reputation, and covenant of the Lord. The name of the Lord was greater than the name Goliath had built through fear. Spiritual confidence is not boasting in our ability; it is standing in who God is and obeying what He has assigned. When identity is rooted in God, intimidation loses some of its power. Today, do not approach the battle as though everything depends on your strength. Bring your preparation, but stand under His authority.
Quote
"The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."
- King Solomon (Proverbs 18:10)
Instruction
Before facing a difficult task or conversation, pray through the names and attributes of God. Enter the situation conscious of His authority, not only your limitations.
