Sober Self-Assessment

Verse

“For I say… to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly…” Romans 12:3

Teaching

A renewed mind produces a sober identity. Pride exaggerates; insecurity diminishes; sobriety agrees with God. You are not nothing, and you are not everything. You are a member of Christ’s body, entrusted with grace for a particular function. Today, come out of comparison. Comparison corrupts calling. Stand in your measure of faith and serve faithfully from there.

Quote

“Humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking truthfully before God.”

Instruction

Examine yourself without pride and without shame. Write down your gifts, weaknesses, responsibilities, and current level of faith. Ask: “Where am I exaggerating myself, and where am I diminishing what God placed in me?”
