Forgive and Release
Verse
"Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." Matthew 6:12
Teaching
Receiving forgiveness and extending forgiveness belong together in the life of grace. We do not forgive because the offence was small or harmless. We forgive because we have been forgiven and refuse to let another person's wrong become the ruler of our inner life. Forgiveness does not cancel wise boundaries, accountability, or truth. It releases personal vengeance and hands judgement to God. Unforgiveness keeps the debt alive in the heart. Today, bring both your own sin and the wounds caused by others into the light of mercy.
Quote
"As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."
- King David (Psalm 103:12)
Instructions
Confess one specific wrong to God. Name one person you need to release, renounce revenge, and ask God for wisdom about healthy next steps.
