Give Us Daily Bread
Verse
"Give us this day our daily bread." Matthew 6:11
Teaching
Daily bread teaches dependence one day at a time. God may provide through work, people, opportunity, wisdom, or unexpected help, but every good provision still comes from Him. The prayer is plural - give us - reminding us that provision is never only private. We receive with gratitude and remain attentive to the needs of others. Fear wants tomorrow's entire supply before it will trust today. Jesus teaches us to receive today's grace and walk with the Father into tomorrow. Enough for today is not neglect; it is an invitation to daily fellowship.
Quote
"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want."
- King David (Psalm 23:1)
Instruction
Thank God specifically for today's provision. Then share food, money, time, or practical help with someone whose daily need you can lighten.
