The Mind of the Spirit

Verse

"For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." Romans 8:6

Teaching

Your mindset determines the realm you operate in and sets an atmosphere. The carnal mind may be busy, clever, or religious, but its fruit is death. What death means in this context is that it neutralises your experience of God’s life flowing out of you. The Spirit-led mind carries life and a peace-atmosphere because it agrees with God's nature and God's Word. This is not positive thinking; it is spiritual alignment. A thought is not harmless simply because it is familiar. Today, pay attention to the fruit of your thinking; watch out for fear, unbelief. Insecurity, rivalry, and bitterness. If a thought continually produces death, however soothing it may be in your mind, challenge it and ditch it; do not build your life around it. Set your mind toward the mind of Christ, which is already installed inside of you.

Quote

The Spirit-led mind is evidenced by life and peace. If you constantly wrestle with a drained, defeated inner atmosphere, check your thought life.

Instruction

Audit your thoughts today. Mark thoughts that produce death, fear, lust, anger, or unbelief. Replace them with thoughts that produce life and peace.
