Yet I Will Rejoice

Verse

"Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation." Habakkuk 3:18

Teaching

Habakkuk reaches a remarkable place: the fields may fail, the harvest may disappear, and the visible evidence of prosperity may collapse - yet he chooses to rejoice in God. This is not denial. He names the loss before declaring his praise. Biblical joy does not require pretending that pain is pleasant. It discovers a reason for worship deeper than changing circumstances. When everything you thanked God for yesterday appears uncertain today, God Himself remains worthy. Mature worship eventually moves from 'I praise God because of what He gave me' to 'I praise God because of who He is.' Circumstances may affect comfort, plans, or possessions, but they do not have authority to redefine God's character.

Quote

"I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth."
- King David (Psalm 34:1)

Instruction

Spend your first few minutes of prayer today asking for nothing. Name five qualities of God and praise Him specifically for who He is before speaking about your circumstances.
