Crucifying the Flesh

Verse

And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." Galatians 5:24

Teaching

The flesh is not counselled into holiness; it is crucified. Paul uses strong language because the passions and desires of the flesh do not surrender politely. They demand attention, secrecy, and repetition. To crucify the flesh is to agree with Christ's judgement over everything that competes with His lordship. Today, do not pity the thing that is destroying your freedom. Bring it to the cross and leave it there. What you refuse to crucify will keep trying to govern you.

Quote

The cross is not only where you were forgiven; it is where false masters are executed.

Instruction

Name one passion or desire that must go back to the cross. Do not negotiate with it today. Replace it with worship and obedience.
