"Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth." Colossians 3:2

Your mind is not neutral ground. Whatever dominates your thoughts begins to shape your emotions, decisions, expectations, and behaviour. Paul commands believers to set the mind, which means the mind can be directed. You are not helpless before every thought that arrives. Earthly thinking magnifies problems, offences, cravings, and fears. Heavenly thinking magnifies Christ, truth, promise, purpose, and eternity. Today, do not let your mind drift. Set it.
The battle for transformation is won or lost in the realm of thought. Long before actions become habits and habits become character, they exist as repeated patterns of thinking. This is why Scripture places such importance on renewing the mind. A renewed life begins with a renewed way of thinking. As you deliberately fill your mind with God's Word, His perspective begins to replace the assumptions, fears, and distortions of the old life.
Setting your mind on things above does not mean ignoring earthly responsibilities; it means viewing them through a heavenly lens. Challenges are no longer seen merely as obstacles but as opportunities for God's grace. Trials are no longer signs of abandonment but occasions for spiritual growth. When your mind is fixed on Christ, you gain stability in uncertainty, peace in pressure, and confidence in the midst of change. The direction of your thoughts will ultimately determine the direction of your life.
