Living Sacrifice
Verse
“…a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1
Teaching
Sacrifice is not death alone; it is surrendered living. God is not asking you to disappear; He is asking you to burn with holy purpose. A living sacrifice continues to think, work, love, serve, build, and dream, but now everything is offered to God. Holiness is not emptiness; it is life set apart for divine use. In the New Testament, God is not looking for animals offered; he is looking for you. You are the offering, and like Isaac lay there on the altar presented by his father Abraham, tied up, immobilised and surrendered, alive and yet completely dead, so must we remain on the altar. Like the ram caught in the thicket was only revealed when Isaac was on the altar, Jesus and God’s unfailing provision in only revealed when we offer our lives to God as living sacrifices.
Quote
“The problem with a living sacrifice is that it keeps trying to crawl off the altar.”
Instruction
Identify one area where you keep climbing off the altar. Write it down. Surrender it in prayer, then practise obedience in that area today.
