The Conflict Within
Verse
"For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh..." (Galatians 5:17)
Teaching
Do not be discouraged by the existence of spiritual conflict. Dead people feel no conflict. The very fact that you are aware of a struggle often indicates that the Spirit is at work within you. Before Christ, the flesh ruled unchallenged. Now another voice has entered the conversation. The Spirit is producing new desires, new appetites, and new convictions. Growth often feels like warfare because two kingdoms are competing for influence. Today, do not condemn yourself because of the battle. Instead, thank God that the battle is proof He has not abandoned you.

Instruction
Identify one recurring inner struggle. Bring it honestly before God and ask the Spirit to reveal the deeper issue beneath it.
