Put Off the Old Man

"Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds." Colossians 3:9

The old man is not only seen in obvious sin; he appears in speech, attitude, anger, dishonesty, and self-protection. Paul connects the old life with deeds because identity always produces behaviour. When you came to Christ, you were not given a religious mask; you were given a new life. Today, take off what no longer fits. Do not wear old reactions in a new season. Truthful speech is one sign that the old man is losing his grip.
