The Conflict Within

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh..." Galatians 5:17
Teaching
Spiritual conflict inside the believer does not mean the Spirit has left. It often means the Spirit is resisting what the flesh used to control without challenge. The flesh has desires, arguments, memories, and appetites. The Spirit also has desires, but His desires lead to life. Do not be shocked by the conflict. Discern it. Name it. Bring it into the light. Today, refuse to treat every desire as destiny. Some desires must be denied because a greater life is being formed in you.

Instruction
Write down the two voices at work in one area of your life: what the flesh wants and what the Spirit wants. Choose the Spirit deliberately.
