Feet for the High Places

Verse

"He will make my feet like deer's feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills." Habakkuk 3:19

Teaching

God does not always flatten the mountain; sometimes He gives you feet suited to the terrain. Habakkuk ends with the picture of an animal able to move securely over difficult heights. This is an important picture of spiritual growth. We often ask God to change the landscape when He may also be changing us. Difficult seasons can help you develop balance, discernment, endurance, courage, patience, and deeper dependence on Him. The terrain that once frightened you can become the place where God demonstrates how much He has strengthened you. Do not judge His faithfulness only by whether the climb disappeared. Ask what He is developing in you because you had to climb. Grace can make you steady where you once stumbled.

Quote

"He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places."
- King David (Psalm 18:33)

Instruction

Identify one difficult 'terrain' in your present season. Instead of asking only for escape, ask, 'Lord, what capacity are You developing in me here?' Write down one quality you believe needs to grow.
