Enter Another's Experience

Verse

"Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." Romans 12:15

Teaching

Love makes room for another person's emotion without redirecting the moment toward self. Rejoicing with others confronts envy; weeping with others confronts emotional distance. Both require attention. A quick solution, comparison, or personal story can prevent you from truly sharing the moment. Presence may be more helpful than advice. Ask what this person needs from you now: celebration, listening, quiet companionship, prayer, or practical help. Their joy does not reduce your portion, and their sorrow does not require you to produce an immediate answer. Follow Him by becoming emotionally available while respecting the other person's pace and privacy.

Quote

"If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all rejoice."
- The Apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 12:26)

Instruction

Contact one person celebrating and one person carrying sorrow. Give each the kind of attention their present experience requires.
