Hallowed Be Your Name
Verse
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name." Matthew 6:9
Teaching
Jesus begins the model prayer with the Father's name, not the disciple's need. To hallow God's name is to recognise His holiness, honour, and rightful place above every competing concern. Worship restores proportion: God becomes greater in our awareness, and problems return to their proper size. His name reveals His character - faithful, holy, merciful, just, and near. Prayer becomes distorted when it begins and ends with self. Today, let adoration lead your requests. The heart that honours God first becomes better prepared to receive His direction, correction, and peace.
Quote
"From the rising of the sun... My name shall be great among the Gentiles."
- The LORD (Malachi 1:11)
Instruction
Begin prayer by naming five qualities of God. Praise Him for who He is before mentioning anything you need Him to do.
